France's effects
The reason France went through a depression was because they had an underdeveloped economy. A big part of France's money comes from people visiting and touring. If they had had better farming, their exports could still be beneficial, but they had always had a weak farming industry. But, because people were very low on money, they were unable to tour France, which left them with less money. Another reason France was in a depression sooner, like the United Kingdom, was because they suffered from WWI. They relied on Germans to repair their damage and pay for their reconstruction but this was also unavailable, making it even harder for them to recover. This is when their Depression took place. In 1934, a riot was held that ended up overthrowing the French government. Since the government was overthrown, Popular Front, a socialist group led the government. But, the new government was hard for people to get used to and didn't work out very well. The result of this was a longer Depression for France and they were the last country to fully recover.
